Folklore and history come alive as native Chicago ghost hunters lead you on an intriguing excursion through haunted Chicago, as you search for Resurrection Mary, Al Capone, John Dillinger and dozens of other ghosts of Chicago. This is the city's passionately authentic ghost tour, celebrating more than twenty years of city-based ghost research.

Our  supernatural tour of Chicago
is based on the work of lifelong Chicagoan, historian and 20-year veteran paranormal researcher Ursula Bielski -- author of
six books on Haunted Chicago, including Chicago Haunts, the first (and much-imitated) book ever published on Chicago's ghosts.  Our guides take visitors to the most haunted and supernaturally active sites in the city aboard Chicago's only "Ghost Bus" in search of Chicago's most famous--and infamous ghosts.

This is no ordinary ghost tour. The Chicago Hauntings tours are known for their authenticity, and we've been told they're provocative, dark, historical and sometimes more than a little scary. Our tour guides are all native Chicagoans with a passion for the city of their birth.  Our tours have been called intelligent, sophisticated, and a lot of fun.  But they're also more than a little unnerving. All you have to bring is your imagination, an open mind, and -- if you wish -- a camera.

So come along with our team of
ghost hunters as they take you on a two-hour tour that travels back in time through Chicago's mysterious past -- and up to its haunted present!

Resurrection Mary
the Hauntings of
Archer Avenue

SATURDAY, May 23, 2009 3PM
  SATURDAY, August 8, 2009 3PM

Few roads in the world rival the super-haunted reputation of Chicago's Archer Avenue, home to some of the city's most legendary ghost stories, including the most famous Vanishing Hitchhiker on earth, Resurrection Mary. This road was cosntructed by poor Irish immigrants --builders of the controversial and ill-funded Illinois & Michigan Canal-- who laid down the road over an ancient Indian trail known for its spiritual powers.  The slavelike conditions of their labor, their deaths from hunger, thirst, disease and violence: all live on in the deep folklore of this storied region.

Join us for a very special trip down this fabled road, when we'll travel from its beginnings in haunted Chinatown to its darkest burial ground: the mournful churchyard of St. James at Sag Bridge. Along the way we'll glimpse Kaiser Hall in old Bridgeport, where the Devil himself once came to dance.  We'll see the home of Mary Bregovy - believed by some to be the source of the Resurrection Mary legend. We'll tell tales of the abandoned Union Stockyards, where Mary worked in the factories of Packingtown, and we'll pass the funeral home which prepared her body for burial.  Late into the evening, we'll view the Willowbrook Ballroom, famed stomping ground of Chicago's most famous ghost, and we'll enjoy an excellent dinner at Chet's Melody Lounge, where Rez Mary herself has been known to imbibe.

$55 per person includes tour, dinner and two drinks.

MORE ABOUT OUR TOURS

The Chicago Ghost Tours are conducted aboard the city's only "Ghost Bus," and each lasts approximately 2 hours, visiting an array of authenticated haunted sites throughout the city. This is not just a driving tour where you'll ride for hours and simply look out the windows of the bus. Rather, we depart the bus several times throughout each tour at some of Chicago's most actively haunted sites, inviting guests to investigate a particular haunted Chicago location for themselves.

We don't provide an itinerary because we like to vary the routes, and also because we like to throw in a few surprises . . .  But among the more popular locations we visit include the Fort Dearborn Massacre site, Iroquois Theater & Death Alley, the Eastland river disaster site, haunted Streeterville, the death site of Resurrection Mary, Hull House, Harpo Studios, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre site, Graceland Cemetery, Candyman's Cabrini Green, the Tonic Room, the Biograph Theater and many others -- some notorious, some not so well known -- but all researched and documented for their authenticity by the Chicago Hauntings team.  We know you'll enjoy them.

We can never guarantee any of the sites on the tour will produce an active supernatural occurrence -- nor can we guarantee they won't.

Just be warned . . .Strange things have occurred on our tours in the past!

Below, Ursula Bielski and a Chicago Hauntings guest enjoy the tour.
